Earlier this week, Admiral William Fallon - under Bush pressure - quits as the head of the U.S. Central Command.
Esquire Magazine this month portrayed Fallon as the one U.S. military leader - among the many in the Pentagon who oppose war with Iran - who could stop Bush/Cheney.
It certainly won’t be Obama and Clinton - who have to prove to the military industrial complex - with its unchallenged, bloated, wasteful military budget - that they too are tough guys - especially when it comes to the Middle East.
Nader/Gonzalez would reverse U.S. policy in the Middle East - from the fertile crescent to the Straits of Hormuz.
Clinton/Obama/McCain will not."

A Glimmer from the Bush Administration - March 11, 2008
For the first time i've ever noticed, the Bush administration has done something right. i discovered this little jem of a fact, accidentally, after hearing about E. Benjamin Skinner's new book A Crime So Monstrous.
John R. Miller, after developing Great things in Washington state such as the Discovery Institute and the Cascadia Project, went on to become Director of the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons. Skinner's book outlines Miller's career and investigates the horrors of the modern Slave Trade practices that Miller has been working to eradicate. Most of his Ambassadorial work has been taken place in Eastern European countries where the largest problem lies. This man Miller and his mission is a Diamond in the rough Bush administration. Although widely unnoticed by his own administration (Miller's bio on whitehouse.gov still says he reports to Secretary of State Colin Powell), Miller proves that he is in it to win it.
Senator McCain has picked up on the progress made and has been quick to endorse Miller and Skinner's work. Go Team America! At least we're doing Great things on the fringes.
Now if we could just get Velib to open shop, we'd be set!

Just yesterday a report was released stating that 24 major U.S. cities had pharmaceuticals in their drinking water. Senate Hearing are being launched and organizations like Riverkeepers are quick to respond. But are they proposing the proper responses?
The Daily Green, a hand-made Hearst Corp. environmental watchdog website pointed out that Riverkeeper is proposing a Strange partial solution that only adds to other problems for our Mother Earth to deal with. Riverkeeper proposes that, "To properly dispose of medication, keep it in its plastic container, fill it with water and kitty litter or sand, place the cap on the bottle, put it into a zip lock plastic bag, then dispose of it in the trash."
All of you pharm users out there STOP FLUSHING! Take your leftovers and stick them in kitty litter and bury them in plastic! Quick, so we can leave our mark for a longer period of time! Let us all make mini time capsules of our favorite drugs so the people of the future can get high and have some fun. We all know they're gonna need it.

The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) channels money on behalf of the Bush Administration through 4 core institutes: The International Republican Institute, the National Democratic Institute, the Solidarity Center (AFL-CIO), and the Center for International Private Enterprise (Chambers of Commerce). The NED has used these funds for everything from manipulating elections to coordinating coups, under the guise of "spreading democracy" around the world. In Venezuela the NED funded corrupt NGOs and trade unions that played a crucial role in the failed coup against President Chávez in 2002. In Haiti the NED core institutes were heavily involved in the 2004 coup against President Aristide resulting in the slaughter of thousands of women, children and men. The NED operates globally and has doubled its operating budget to prop up the occupation of Iraq. As Allen Weinstein, the NED's theoretical planner, noted in 1991: "A lot of what we do today was done covertly 25 years ago by the CIA."

* Funded and sponsored Venezuelan NGOs that participated in the 2002 attempted Coup d'état against Venezuela's democratically elected President Hugo Chavez;
* In 2004, funded the defeated recall referendum against President Chavez and directly contributed to the destabilizing political opposition in Venezuela;
* Funded, convened, and founded the organizations behind the coup against the democratically-elected government of Aristide in Haiti;
* Funded political parties, acted to buy elections and financed the over-throw of democratically-elected governments in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Bulgaria, and numerous other countries around the world;
* In 2004, the NED doubled its operating budget to finance projects aimed at maintaining the occupation of Iraq.
If a foreign agency were to fund electoral campaigns in the United States, it would be considered an act of aggression, and those receiving the money would be considered guilty of treason. Yet, this is standard operating procedure for the NED and USAID. And when that fails to work, the NED and USAID are known to fund and help coordinate coup plotters, even against hugely popular elected officials.
The National Endowment for Democracy was created by an act of Congress in 1983. It's primary source of funding is U.S. taxes. Nevertheless, the NED is officially designated as a private institution.
